Gas နှင့် Oil Shock Absorber ရွေးချယ်ခြင်း
An oil shock absorber uses oil alone, while a gas shock absorber adds pressurised nitrogen above the oil. The nitrogen stops the oil from foaming when the shock absorber works hard, which is why a gas unit keeps its damping on rough roads and under load where an oil unit begins to fade.

What actually happens inside each type?

In both types a piston is pushed through oil and the oil is forced through small valves, and that resistance is the damping. In an oil shock absorber, hard repeated work whips air into the oil and turns it to foam, and foam does not resist the piston, so damping drops away. In a gas shock absorber the pressurised nitrogen keeps the oil under enough pressure that foam does not form.

Gas suits most working vehicles here. Rough and uneven surfaces make the shock absorber cycle constantly, which is exactly the condition that causes an oil unit to fade, and loaded pickups and intercity vehicles push a shock absorber hardest. Oil units remain a reasonable choice for a light vehicle used mainly on good city roads, and they usually cost less.

Match the type to how the vehicle is used.

- Gas — loaded pickups, intercity routes, rough or unsealed roads, and any vehicle that carries weight regularly. Firmer ride, holds damping when hot.
- Oil — light vehicles on good city roads, driven unloaded. Softer ride, lower price, fades sooner when worked hard.
- Whichever you choose, fit the same type on both sides of an axle. Mixing a gas unit with an oil unit on one axle makes the vehicle damp unevenly.
