What does the OE prefix tell me about the maker?

Three patterns cover nearly everything here. Hino uses 04043 followed by four digits — 04043-2009, 04043-2010, 04043-2059. Mitsubishi uses MB and MC prefixes such as MB294272, MB294274 and MC811605, plus the 11001 group. Nissan uses 40025. Recognising the prefix tells you the maker before you have looked anything up.

Two kits for my truck have the same diameter. Which one?

Go to the length. The clearest case here is 35 mm: the NY-530 is 190 mm and the NY-325 is 205 mm, both for Hino trucks. A 15 mm difference is obvious once you lay the old pin next to a ruler, and impossible to guess from the model name. If the old pin is not available, measure the axle eye depth plus both yoke thicknesses.

Is one kit enough for the whole axle?

Read the packaging before you leave the counter. Some Nam Yang kits are packed per side and some as an axle set. Ask the counter staff to confirm the pack contents against the number of pins, bushes and thrust bearings, because arriving at the workshop with half an axle set is a wasted day.

Dimensionally yes, when the OE cross-reference is correct — that is what the cross-reference is for. Judge the difference on the pin material and hardness, whether the bushes are bronze or steel-backed, and whether a rolling thrust bearing is included rather than a plain washer. On a truck that works every day those three points decide whether you do this job again in two years or in eight.
