အခြေခံ
Every place a rotating shaft leaves the engine has an oil seal. The main ones are the front crankshaft seal behind the pulley, the rear crankshaft seal between the engine and the gearbox, the camshaft seals behind the timing cover, and the water pump shaft seal. Each is a wear item with a finite life.

Which seal is behind an oil leak at the front of the engine?
အင်ဂျင်ရှေ့ဘက် ဆီယိုမှုက ဘယ် seal ကြောင့်လဲ
Usually the front crankshaft seal, behind the crankshaft pulley. Oil from it is thrown outwards by the pulley, so it appears as a spray across the timing cover and the front of the sump rather than a drip in one place. A camshaft seal leaking behind the timing cover looks similar from outside.

Why is the rear crankshaft seal the expensive one?

The part itself is cheap, but it sits between the engine and the gearbox, so the gearbox and the clutch have to come out to reach it. That is why it is renewed as a matter of course whenever a clutch is replaced, even if it is not leaking yet. Doing it later means paying the same labour twice.

Is an oil leak from a seal urgent?

A slow weep is not urgent but should not be ignored, because oil finds its way onto belts and rubber parts and destroys them. A leak from the front crankshaft seal in particular drops oil straight onto the V-ribbed belt and the timing belt. Check the oil level regularly until it is repaired.
