Wiper blades are one of the few parts a customer can buy without knowing anything about their vehicle, provided the counter asks the right four questions. Because more than two thousand listings sit behind the counter, asking is far faster than searching by model name.

What are the four questions to ask?

How long is the driver blade, how long is the passenger blade, what shape is the fitting on the arm, and does the vehicle have a rear wiper. If the customer cannot answer, the vehicle model and year plus a photograph of the arm end settles it in one message.

Why is the model name not enough?

Because the same model often changes wiper length and connector at a facelift, and imported used vehicles in Myanmar come from several markets with different specifications. Two vehicles with the same badge and year can take 600 mm hook blades and 650 mm push-button blades respectively.

How does the customer measure at home?

Lift the arm off the screen, lay a tape along the rubber from one tip to the other, and read it in centimetres. Then photograph where the blade joins the arm, from the side. Those two things — a number and a photograph — are enough for the counter to pick the right pair from stock.

Is a longer blade ever better?

No. A blade even 25 mm too long hits the A-pillar trim or the other blade at the top of the stroke, which bends the arm and eventually breaks the linkage. The sweep pattern was designed with the glass — going longer clears no more glass and damages the mechanism.

Fitting one correct blade and leaving the old one on the other side is acceptable for a few days but should be said out loud, because half a clean screen is what the customer will notice in the first shower. Order the pair and note the length so the second one is right first time.

Both lengths, the connector, the blade type sold and the date. Wipers are a twice-a-year purchase in Myanmar, so that one line turns every repeat sale into a thirty-second transaction and removes any chance of the wrong connector going out.
