No, because the pulleys are different. A V-belt pulley has one deep 40 degree groove and a V-ribbed belt has no wedge to sit in it. How do you read a V-belt size such as 13x900 or A35?

Two numbers: the section, which is the width across the top of the belt, and the length. In the metric style the section is given in millimetres, so 13x900 is a belt 13 mm across the top and 900 mm long. In the classical style a letter does the same job: A is 13 mm wide, B is 17 mm, C is 22 mm, and the smaller automotive sections AV10 and 10 are 10 mm. So an A35 is a 13 mm belt 35 inches long, and a 13x900 and an A-section belt of the same length are the same belt described two ways. Two cautions. Some catalogues quote outside length and others quote inner or effective length, and the difference can be 20 to 30 mm on a long belt, so compare like with like or measure the old belt. How do you read a V-ribbed code such as 6PK1400?

Three parts, read left to right. The first number is how many ribs the belt has — six in this case. The letters give the rib profile, and PK is the automotive standard with ribs spaced 3.56 mm apart; you will also meet PJ, which is finer at 2.34 mm, and PL, which is coarser. The last number is the effective length in millimetres, so a 6PK1400 is a six-rib PK belt 1,400 mm long. All three have to match. A belt with too few ribs will run on a wider pulley but only part of the pulley is doing any work, so it slips and burns; a belt with too many hangs over the edge and the overhanging ribs are destroyed within days.
