An L or R at the end of a catalogue number means the part is side-specific: L for the left of the vehicle, R for the right, taken from the driver's seat looking forward. A number with no suffix fits either side. Ordering the wrong side means the part will not mount correctly, so the suffix is worth checking before you pay.

Where does the suffix appear?

At the end of the brand's catalogue number. In the Win Store catalogue you will see pairs such as CBT-49L and CBT-49R from HLC, or SE-3811L and SE-3811R from 555 — the same number with a different final letter, one for each side of the vehicle. Where the manufacturer uses one part for both sides, no letter appears.

Which side is left on a right-hand drive vehicle?

Left and right are always taken from the driver's seat facing forward, and this does not change with the steering position. On a right-hand drive vehicle the driver sits on the right, so the driver's side is the right side and the passenger's side is the left. When describing a fault to our parts team, name the side both ways — for example "left, the passenger side" — so there is no ambiguity.

Check these four things on the listing.
