The Original Equipment (OE) number is the reliable way to match a stabilizer link, because links vary in length, thread size and stud angle between models that otherwise look similar. Year, make and model are not enough on their own — the same model often uses different links front and rear, and sometimes different ones left and right.

Stabilizer links are small and sit low, so the number is often obscured by road dirt or rust. Look along the body of the rod and on any flat face near the joints. If nothing is readable, photograph the old link in place before it is removed and send the photo with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) — our parts team can identify the link from the VIN alone.

Work through these five points.

- The side — left or right, or both if only one number exists.
- The Original Equipment number matches your vehicle record.
- The quantity — one link per side, so two for a full axle.
- Whether the listing names a vehicle and year that match yours, where the brand provides it.

Do I need a wheel alignment afterwards?

No. A stabilizer link does not set any wheel angle, so replacing one does not disturb the alignment. This is one of the few suspension jobs that needs no alignment afterwards, which keeps the total cost lower than a ball joint or control arm replacement.
