ဆီလဲပြီး Filter မလဲရင် ဘာဖြစ်မလဲ
New oil poured through an old filter is contaminated almost immediately. The old filter still holds a quantity of dirty oil and a full load of trapped particles, and because it is already at capacity it passes unfiltered oil to the engine from the first minute. The saving on one filter costs a full oil service.

How much dirty oil stays behind?

Enough to matter. A spin-on filter holds a meaningful volume of oil inside its canister, and none of that drains out when the sump is emptied. That oil is the dirtiest in the engine, because it is what the filter has been concentrating. Pouring clean oil in on top of it contaminates the new oil straight away.

What is the actual damage?

Abrasive particles circulating through the bearings, the camshaft and the piston rings. The damage is gradual rather than immediate — this is not a fault that appears on the drive home. It shows up over years as increased oil consumption, lower compression, and an engine that wears out earlier than it should. That is why it is easy to get away with, and why it is a false economy.

Only in one narrow case: topping up oil between services is not an oil change and does not require a filter. If you are draining and refilling the sump, change the filter. An oil filter is among the cheapest parts on the vehicle, and the labour is already being paid for since the vehicle is up and the oil is out.
