Evenly and in a criss-cross pattern, a little at a time, so the head stays square to the face. Tightening one bolt fully first tips the flange and pinches the O-ring on one side — the commonest cause of a split-flange leak. No. The W suffix marks it as a crimp fitting — the ferrule is swaged onto the hose in a crimping machine with the correct die and setting for that hose and size. It is not a reusable screw-together end.
