Look at the steel backing plate — the flat metal side, not the friction surface. Numbers are stamped, etched, or printed there, and are often partly hidden by brake dust. Wipe the plate with a dry cloth before photographing it. If the pad is worn to the point where nothing is legible, the box it came in usually carries the same number.
